Fatigue does not mean that the condition is getting worse. Fatigue does not mean that the treatment is not working. Feeling tired is normal during this time. You may feel a little tired or very tired during radiation therapy.

In most instances, treatments are usually spread out over several weeks to allow your healthy cells to recover in between radiation therapy sessions. Expect each treatment session to last approximately 10 to 30 minutes.

Patients who receive most types of external-beam radiation therapy usually have to travel to the hospital or an outpatient facility up to 5 days a week for several weeks. A single fraction of the total planned dose of radiation is given each day. Occasionally, two treatments a day are given.
